Fran Milwee

In junior high school in realized I wanted to become an attorney. I have always been interested in education and helping others, because education provides us with opportunities and experiences that lay the foundations for shaping our futures. This is why I pursued a degree in education and further went on to become an attorney. I graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1979, with a degree in secondary education having a double major in English and History. Upon graduation I began working at Glencoe High School as a teacher of government, economics, and psychology.

My journey into the legal field began in 1981, when I started working at the law office of David Evans in Boaz, Alabama. There I learned how to abstract real estate titles and enrolled in Birmingham School of Law. I worked full time as a title abstractor while attending law school five nights a week. I would have never thought I would have become so interested in real estate law, but I developed a love of it and even more so when I started practicing and working with buyers, sellers, realtors, and lenders. When I graduated in 1985, I started practicing real estate law with a firm in Guntersville. I worked there until I joined Laura and Norma at Turning Point Legal in March of 2018. I am now the longest-tenured practicing female attorney in Marshall County and have closed thousands of real estate transactions, representing many individuals as well as local, state and national lenders in real estate closings.

Being an attorney is much more than a job or even a career, it is a life choice. I feel real estate law is so important because buying and selling property is a huge turning point in life and being there to guide and help my clients is extremely rewarding.

Outside of practicing law, I was a charter school board member for the newly formed Boaz City School System. I served in that capacity for 10 years. We implemented policies and procedures for the new school system, transitioned out of the county school system, gained approval from the State Board of Education and hired the initial central office staff. Through the years, I have served on several community and charitable service boards. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I have lived in a very athletic-minded household, having participants and coaches in various sports. My husband is a retired high school football coach, my son coaches college football and my daughter has worked in college athletics as a director of operations and academic advisor. Having grown-up alongside Norma Wells, I am delighted to be a part of the team at Turning Point Legal.
