Turning Point Legal, PC can assist you with all areas of elder law, probate, estate planning (including special needs), Medicaid, long-term care planning, real estate, business law, wills, trusts, and estate administration.
Laura Givens and Norma Wells formed Turning Point Legal in February 2017 after many years of admiring each other’s “nerd-like” focus on learning all they could to help clients facing the loss of their homes and assets due to the cost of long-term nursing home care. They spent many hours researching and conferring on how to best help their clients protect assets and plan for their estates. After many trips together to elder law meetings with the State Bar, Laura popped the question – and Norma said yes!
Norma and Laura realized they could focus on clients better together than apart. So, on one cold afternoon, they took the plunge and formed Turning Point Legal – or TP Legal. Yes, they have tissues for your issues!
One big dream they each had was to attend extensive training at an “Elder Law Immersion Camp.” Just before opening the doors as Turning Point Legal, PC, they flew to Las Vegas for three long days of training. Thanks to the intense training they received in February 2017, they were bubbling over with excitement to help clients when they opened their doors as Turning Point Legal, PC on March 1, 2017.
Just a few years later, in July 2020, Norma and Laura were excited to hire attorney Rachel Syx as an experienced associate attorney. The three had known each other for years prior to Rachel entering law school. In fact, Rachel interned at Laura’s office for many years while finishing up her undergraduate degree. Before law school, Rachel developed a fondness for the Guardianship/Conservatorship area of law in the Probate Court as she assisted Laura with tasks as President of the Marshall County Guardianship Program (aka “GAP”). If you know Rachel, she is often arguing on behalf of someone’s grandma or grandpa, making sure they receive the respect and dignity they deserve while aging in Marshall County or surrounding counties.
The TP team has assisted many clients and families using their extensive experience with protecting valuable assets.
